Study Room Policies

-

Individual and group study rooms are available on both the first and second floors to current LSUS students, staff, and faculty. All group study rooms are designed for groups of two or more, but may be used by an individual if no group is present. A single user must vacate the study room if a group arrives and requests the room.

Individual Study Rooms

Individual study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are located on the first and second floors.

Group Study Rooms:

LSUS students may reserve study rooms up to two weeks in advance using an LSUS email address OR study rooms may requested on-demand. Reservations and requests must be made using the library’s room-management software.  Click here to access page.

You must confirm your reservation through your LSUS e-mail within 24 hours or your booking will be canceled.

Group study rooms are kept locked and keys must be checked out at the nearby service desks using picture ID (First Floor see Circulation. Second Floor see Microforms and Media). Only the individual whose name is listed as requesting the room may check out the key. This person is responsible for ensuring the room and equipment is left in good condition and the key is returned.

  • Group study rooms are designed to be used by 2 or more people. Individuals may use large study rooms alone, but may be asked to move in order to accommodate groups of 2 or more seeking study space.
  • Room check-outs are booked in increments of 30 minutes. Check outs are limited to 120 minutes per day (2 hours) over 2 sessions.
  • Reserved rooms are held for 15 minutes past the time the reservation begins. If the reservation is not confirmed and the keys are not checked out by this time, the reservation may be canceled to accommodate others who wish to use the room.
  • Drinks are permitted in securely covered containers only. Small bite-size snacks are allowed, all other foods should be consumed in the first-floor lounge.
  • Groups which are excessively loud or which violate the library’s food and drink policy may be asked to leave.
  • Continued use of a checked-out study room will be allowed if the space has not been requested by another group.
  • Noel Memorial Library is not responsible for personal belongings that are left unattended.

Study rooms in Microforms and Media (2nd Floor) close 15 minutes before the library closes.
